Clip filenames in cut page timeline?

PostWed Jun 16, 2021 8:11 pm

Hi All!

Is there a way to display the clip filenames on the cut page timeline just as we have it on the edit page?
There is no way I could identify a clip I already appended to the timeline with the source clip:

Or am I doing it all wrong?

Thanks!

On the Cut page select a clip in the timeline and use shortcut Alt+f. This will highlight the clip in the Media Pool.

Thanks, Charles!

That works, but I wish that the clip would be labeled also since there's enough room, just like in the timeline.
Also, the clips in the media pool have a fixed thumbnail that truncates the filenames if too long:

I wish there would be the same clip thumbnail size slider like we have on the edit page.

Thanks for the help!

There is a forum for Feature Requests.

viewforum.php?f=33

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Jim, he's not making a feature request he's replying to me. Why not make a helpful suggestion instead as I have done here?

Gabi, a workaround is to use the Metadata view in the Media Pool. It means you have to scroll down a column of clips, but they do show the full file name.

I believe he was. The bins on the Edit page have a slider control for adjusting the size of the Thumbnails.

Cut page doesn't have that.
