Resolve 17.2.1 fails to load on Win 10

I've got one edit bay, out of 4 running Resolve, that is...out of the blue...failing to load Davinci Resolve today. The editor, during troubleshooting, updated their resolve version. Same problem occured.

There is the error log.

Basically when you load the app, it just crawls, gets stuck for about a minute on the loading plugins, gets stuck for about 3 minutes loading fairlight, then eventually gets to the project viewer. If you leave it alone for another few minutes you can click one, then it will crash. Sometimes if you wait long enough the UI loads, anything you click after that, it crashes.

We were on 17.1 when this started happening, I updated to 17.2.1 during troubleshooting. I've removed drivers, removed the app, reinstalled everything 3 times now. No joy.

Pretty stumped.

Windows 10
AMD 3900XT
Nvidia 3090
Was on 460.89 and updated to 462.59

Any pointers or help is greatly appreciated.

Hi William

Please refer to this post for instructions on generating a usable log archive and system info file. Single log text files are not useful.

A couple of common checks you can start with -
• Nvidia drivers: do you use Studio drivers? are they cleanly installed (i.e. in the installer, did you choose the custom > clean installation)? are your Windows updates set up to update your drivers as well? (if yes, please turn them off in favor of finding manually updated stable drivers)

• do you have firewalls/antivirus software that show errors related to DaVinci Resolve? If you provide exceptions (or run DaVinci Resolve with the firewall/antivirus disabled as a diagnostic test), does that help?

• If you have USB peripherals other than your mouse/keyboard/Resolve dongle, please try disconnecting them to see if it matters. This includes virtual displays or video capture cards. Please check that your USB ports are not set to power down as part of Windows power management.

• Some drivers - like certain Nahimic and Corsair drivers - have been known to cause graphics related issues, and affect DaVinci Resolve's start up.

Another to watch - sounds similar.
