Making an OpenFX preset.

Hello community,

I'm curious if there is a way to take an open fx effect that I have customized and save it as a preset to apply to other clips in my edit timeline? I can't seem to figure it out. Hoping there is a way to do this.

Thank you,

Yes, I have been looking for this feature for a long time.

You can do this in most cases with a PowerGrade. Do this:

1) drag the OFX effect into a node.

2) adjust the node where you like it.

3) create a new version of the grade. Delete all other nodes except the one with the OFX effect.

4) go to a PowerGrade bin, and grab a still of this shot. (Optional: label the PowerGrade thumbnail so you know what it is.)

5) return to the original version.

Now you can drag that PowerGrade into any future shot and it will have that same setting.

I agree, it would be very nice if we had the ability to save presets in all OFX plug-ins. Some of the BorisFX and Sapphire plugs have this feature.

Doing this for me in the Color Page won't work because I have to render out a flat pass master at the end of the project. I don't want to loose the color space conversion when rendering in flat pass so from what I can tell it needs to be done in the Edit Page.
