No Audio Scrub in Fairlight

PostFri Jun 18, 2021 12:37 am

I’m having trouble with DR Studio 17.2.1 refusing to Audio Scrub in Fairlight.
And yes, I made sure scrubbing is enabled on the Timeline drop down menu.
On the Fairlight page I can't hear the audio scrubbing. All the meters are responding but without sound output through the BM DecklinkStudio 2 audio out.
On the Fairlight page I can hear the audio when pressing the Playback key, no issues

As an additional piece of information when I press STOP playing in Fairlight and immediately start scrub with the speed editor jog wheel I can hear the audio coming out through the speakers but I must jog very slowly, otherwise the audio out through the speakers just stops and will remain in that state until I hit the Play/stop key. At that point I can again scrub with the speed editor jog wheel, but only very slowly otherwise the problem reappears.
With the Mouse it is impossible to scrub the timeline and have any audio through the speakers.
Also it is worth mentioning that with the JKL keys it plays back in both directions, at any speed without problems.
In the Edit page there is no problem with audio scrubbing, be it with the mouse, the JKL keys or the jog wheel of the speed editor.
The issue appears to be related to Fairlight page only
Any ideas to troubleshoot the issue?
Thank you in advance

Thank you for your answer, Justin.
I have read the post you pointed to before I wrote mine.
I do not have an audio card in the PC except for the build in audio output of the motherboard.
I found no need to have one since I'm using the DecklinkStudio2 for that purpose.
I'll have the reconfigure the external audio hookup to go through the same motions you went through and see what happens.
I'll do it on the weekend and post back on the results.
Cheers!!

As suggested, I changed the configuration for Audio OUT from the BM DecklinkStudio 2 audio out to the MOBO audio out and it works like a charm.
The workaround bypasses the problem.
Thank you for the help, Justin
Perhaps, if someone from BM is reading this post, they may be in position of offering a solution to the problem that appears to be circumscribed to two pieces of software (Davinci Resolve Studio 17.2.1 and Desktop Video 12.1) and one piece of hardware (BM DecklinkStudio 2)
The three products from Blackmagic.
Waiting to hear from BM support.
