"White Screen" during project loading?

I'm impressed that 17.2 really has improved the start up, and loads projects faster.

One minor nit is the full white screen during project load.

Imagine you're in your production room, like all the splash screens for Resolve . Your OS is set to a nice dark mode. You've got a huge monitor in front of you.
You open Resolve, and it shows the project selector list, nicely rendered in dark mode colors.
You select your project and open it. A "loading" progress indicator appears in dark mode colors.
Then a full screen window appears. It is totally blank and full-brightness white. From a large monitor it has quite an impact. Then a second later, the dark mode Resolve UI appears.

It would be great to remove or tone down the white-screen in future revisions.

I've never seen that. On my system after clicking on a project the loading progress usually appears almost immediately at 100%, the Project Manager box disappears leaving the Desktop, and then the project opens. Maybe a large project with a lot of fx takes just that bit longer to fully open.

My project is pretty simple - 5 minute HD video with no effects, color grading, or plugins.
I just updated NVIDIA Studio drivers to 461.40 because rendering was slow, but it doesn't seem to make a difference in this issue or rendering.

@Peter Chamberlain, do the posted logs give you any insights on the "white flash" phenomenon?

No it's not just you, but it only happens when you first load Resolve, i.e when project manager window doesn't have Resolve GUI underneath, and on other projects as well. It lasts only a very short time with me, like a flash, you don't even perceive it's a window.

So, why not keep DR open? You could even park it on a nice still for clients.

I have the same white screen problem, except that the screen stay white and Da Vinci is totally unusable.
I am using a Mac Mini 64 GB and an external black magic GPU.
I was using the same setting without problem a few weeks ago. But when I relaunched today, I had the white screen problem.
I updated my Da Vinci Resolve to 17.4.5 and my Mac is using OS 12.2.1
Has anyone been able to find how to fix this?

Just wanted to say that after a few mail exchanges with Blackmagic support, my problem has been solved. They were quite fast and helpful.

Yes, please post the fix. I experience this as well. Likewise, I edit in a dim room and that white flash is like when my 4 year old whispers in my ear at 105 db.
