I'm impressed that 17.2 really has improved the start up, and loads projects faster.
One minor nit is the full white screen during project load.
Imagine you're in your production room, like all the splash screens for Resolve
. Your OS is set to a nice dark mode. You've got a huge monitor in front of you.
You open Resolve, and it shows the project selector list, nicely rendered in dark mode colors.
You select your project and open it. A "loading" progress indicator appears in dark mode colors.
Then a full screen window appears. It is totally blank and full-brightness white. From a large monitor it has quite an impact. Then a second later, the dark mode Resolve UI appears.
It would be great to remove or tone down the white-screen in future revisions.
