Exporting CinemaScope/anamorphic footage

Hi, I’m new to resolve, love the software so far!
I having trouble exporting anamorphic footage timeline.
Im trying to export a CinemaScope file, cropped, black bars on top and bottom.
But the exported footage does not match the crop of the original anamorphic footages by a tiny amount.
I’m scared my clients (Cinematographer, DIT etc) would say I altered the CinemaScope crop ratio.
Any help would be much appreciated...!!!!
Thank you so much,

Hmmmm.
As far as I know, DCI Scope doesn't have bars. It defines only the active image area at 4096 x 1716. It's normally broadcast, streaming or physical media that needs the bars as their standard resolutions aren't Scope.
So, can you clarify the goal a bit?

Hi Simon,
Thank you so much for your reply.
I greatly appreciate your help, and sorry for the confusion.
The footage my client gave me was
1. anamorphic BRAW
2. Transcoded ProRes footage used in offline editing
Both 1 and 2 are shown as 16:9 footages in QuickTime player and DaVinci Resolve.
They both have black bars on top and bottom, with exactly the same crop ratio.
(Aka 16:9 CinemaScope footage with black bars)
But when I grade the footage and export I get...
3. Graded ProRes file. 16:9 with black bars on top and bottom,
but with a slightly different crop ratio.
(The black bars eat into the footage slightly, compared to 1 and 2)
I’m pretty sure the clients (cinematographer/DIT) are using Resolve.
So my goal is for #3 (my exports) to be exactly the same as 1 and 2.
Again, thank you so much for your help.

I've never worked with Anamorphic footage, so I'm not so quick to grasp the problem here. Maybe someone else will jump in who can say "Do X".
In the meantime, what is the resolution and PAR of 1 and 2?
What is the resolution and PAR of your timeline?

Kind of sounds like you have blanking enabled and its aspect does not match footage…?

what's the main deliverable?
if it's theatrical then you have to use DciScope and need to tell the creatives that
if it's OTT or broadcast then work in 16x9 and crop manualy to match and to get them into their happy place
