I've been learning DaVinci Resolve for 3 weeks now, and I wanted to test out the hardware/GPU acceleration feature of the studio version, before purchasing it. Is there any way to test out GPU acceleration in the free version, or is there any trial for the studio version?

The Free version is the "trial".

To use Studio features, regardless of what for or for how long, you will need to buy a license.
