Hide Thumbnail

PostWed Jun 23, 2021 5:42 am

I give, how do you make this thumbnail disappear? It serves no purpose and obscures important information. I honestly can't figure out the purpose it's intended to serve. I just set the in-frame, I really don't need a reminder of the action I performed two seconds ago.

Mods, please move this to the feature request section if the Hide Useless Thumbnail checkbox doesn't yet exist.

Good Luck

If you're editing, you can always choose one of the timeline display modes that doesn't show images at all on the timeline. Timeline View Options -> Video View Options -> Simple View. All covered in the manual.

Maybe I didn't make the situation clear. It's the thumbnail that centers itself on the cursor when dragging clips from the viewer to the timeline. The thumbnail obscures the leading edge of the track regardless of the mode. I'm already using "simple view". I can expand the track and "see around" the thumb but it's an inconvenience with multiple tracks.

Good Luck

I'd like to see a checkbox to hide that too.

I don't know of any way to hide it.

But dragging isn't the only way to add clips, if it bothers too much.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
