I'm using the Studio version of Resolve 17 and son is using the free version. He wants help with a small project. What's the best method to collaborate?

You will need:
a. the same Davinci Resolve version
b. the Project Server and a PostgreSQL database in the same LAN subnet.
c. Shared media and media path aliases.
Connection:
Export your current project, reimport it in the PostgreSQL DB.
Right click the project, enable collaboration.
Ensure the other systems can connect to the DB and open the project simultaneously.
Mapping media - Basics:
Map the same folder mapped in each system (e.g /Volumes/NASDrive2/Media/2021-Jun/Yosemite-trek/ and Z:/Media/2021-Jun/Yosemite-trek/)
You will need to designate one system as your path reference.
Ensure all media pool clips are online in the reference system (if not, relink folders and save project)
In the other systems, Add the folder base - e.g "Z:/Media" - as a Media Storage path with an alias/mapping reflecting the mapping on the main system - e.g /Volumes/NASDrive2/Media
If you have media copies, it is the same idea.
You add a Media Storage path e.g C:/Users/JohnA/Movies/ResolveMapping/Media - to /Volumes/NASDrive2/Media/ - in such a way that any new clip added on your system should have a mapped reference video with the same properties.
This is an outline. The manual covered the steps above - postgreSQL servers and connections, starting collaboration, media mapping - as well as common optimised media, machine specific proxies, mapping LUT galleries and other advanced workflow setups.

Hi.
I don't know if you are using the Studio version with a dongle or a seriel number. But if you are using a serial number can you install Resolve Studio on two PC's simultaneous.
