Hey Gang!
I've been having a super weird issue with Resolve since jumping ship from Premiere.
Periodically while I'm editing, the playback window will freeze. I can still move around the timeline and save, but the playback window never comes back to life. Sometimes Resolve will go "Not Responding" for a brief moment and appear to come back, but the playback is still frozen. The transport icons will still toggle red/white, but the video and audio remain frozen.
The only way out of it is to attempt to close Resolve, which then suddenly goes not responding and has to be forced to close. I've gone through the logs, and it seems like it happens when Resolve struggles to decode a video or audio file. The exact error varies, but usually involves decoding a clip or audio file. The exact type of file and codec also varies, making it tough to figure out what's going on.
My media and Resolve Database live on a NAS RAID that I'm connected to via 10G ethernet.
My computer hardware & software is as follows:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Eight-Core Processor 3.77 GHz
32GB Corsair Vengeance 2666 MHz RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080ti
TP-Link 10G PCIe ethernet card
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Build 19042.1052
DaVinci Resolve Studio Version 17.2.2 Build 4
NAS is a Synology DS1621+ with 3x12TB Seagate Iron Wolf drives and a Synology 10G PCIe Ethernet card connected via CAT6 cable.
I'd love any advice or ideas any of you have on how I can "resolve"
this issue. DaVinci Resolve has been a huge improvement to my workflow and this weird freezing error is really bumming me out. We have 2 other computers connected to the NAS via a separate 1G network and neither has any issues.
I've attached my logs as well. Let me know if I'm leaving anything out!
