Audio conforming issue

PostTue Jun 29, 2021 7:17 am

I have an issue with conforming my media during an XML import from a FCPX timeline. I've made a video to show the issue, but I'll try to explain it here as well. Note that I'm fairly new to Resolve, so I'm sure it's user error or bad workflow.

My steps were:
1. Export BRAW clips as Prores proxy to edit in FCPX (these were exported with stereo mixdown audio instead of the 5+ channels in the source linked media)
2. Edit in FCPX, export XML from FCPX
3. Import as Timeline from Resolve
4. All the video clips reconnect perfectly, but it doesn't seem to be connecting the original multichannel linked audio. Since my proxy files are only stereo, there's no actual audio file for Resolve to connect to, but the fact that it conforms to the linked BRAW file (which has the linked multichannel audio) gives me hope that I can regain those multichannel audio links in my timeline without having to rebuild it all.

It's easier to explain while showing, so here's the video showing the issue:

Thanks in advance for any help!
