Choppy playback only in source monitor

I can't understand why for some time now I get very choppy playback with any file (even simple mp3) only in the source monitor in Davinci Resolve Studio 17.2.1.
In the monitor that plays the timeline, everything plays smoothly, even the most demanding files. All the files I am talking about are present on very fast SSDs. This is really frustrating and it doesn't allow me to edit videos anymore. Thanks for your help.
