Subtitle project

I’m j-u-s-t gettin’ started with DaVinci, and would really some editing appreciate advice.
The need is to ‘enhance’ subtitles from DVDs, meaning that they need to be LARGER for my vision challenge girlfriend.
My concept is to zoom and crop the lower third of the movie, and then layer it on top of the movie. Sure, it’ll look a bit odd, but it’s the only alternative for her that I can think of.
So, the upper two thirds needs to be ‘transparent’.
Zoom / Crop / Re-Position – seems simple…
