I have been struggling with an issue in Resolve for as long as I can remember and I finally seem to have found the root cause (maybe). I use Resolve Studio on two different Windows PCs, one with an RTX 2080ti and one with an RX 5700XT GPU. I noticed on my 5700XT PC that the thumbnails for all the clips in my media pool stay greyed out for SEVERAL minutes after opening up Resolve. I am also unable to view any footage on the edit or color pages during this startup time. Resolve is almost fully responsive during this time, I'm just unable to see any changes I'm making if I try to do anything. I marked this up to buggy GPU drivers from AMD and just dealt with the 5-10 minute startup time (depending on the project), but I recently had the idea to try switching my 2080ti PC to using OpenCL instead of Cuda, and the same exact issue arose. It seems to be a bug with the OpenCL implementation for Resolve, but I only have my own small bit of evidence to back up that claim. I have seen a few posts that potentially share the same issue, but no talk about the fact that it only happens when using OpenCL. Is there any way for me to remedy this situation or is this a bug that needs to be fixed by BlackMagic? This has been an issue for me ever since I started using Resolve with the 16 beta versions and has continued to this day using Studio 17.2.1 Build 12.
