Curious is there a way to move clips magnetically in Resolve? The way you are able to in FCPX?

I've tried a number of ALT, Command, Shift key combinations but have not been successful as of yet :)

Can you describe what "magnetically" means, for non-FCPX users?

"The timeline “magnetically” adjusts clips to fit around clips that you drag into place. If you drag clips out of place, the surrounding clips close up to fill the space."

Sorry I should have included this.

Ctrl+shift while dragging will swap clips, but behavior of clips on other tracks may not fulfill expectations while doing so. Otherwise, there's no magnetic timeline.

Cheers John, I can't seem to get it to work.

It's such a simple thing. It might be trademarked or something down those lines by Apple.

Really is such a powerful feature that tremendously speeds up editing.

Search the manual for "shuffle/swap insert edits".

Most FCPers swear by the magnetic timeline, but nobody else has adopted it, probably because only Apple, with no real stake in the NLE market, can afford to be an outlier. It's a completely different editing principle.

It would be good to have but only if you can choose to use it or not. Magnetic timeline is not patented,Pinnacle has it since 2013.

Did you already try the cut page? Isn't this similiar to a magnetic timeline?
