(not talking about the distortion effect)
In Davinci Resolve 16 you could easily tell if the audio is too loud, the audio started to distort, indicating that its too loud, making it very easy to find the right loudness. Nevertheless, the feature was removed in 17.
Today, in 17, the distortion effect only applies after the render. So we can't really tell when editing if the audio is too loud or quiet. It may sound ok, but after the render it's extremely loud or quiet. There is no indication apart from the useless db meter that reads the average YouTube volume as very loud. In Davinci Resolve 17, I have to rerender the audio many many times until I get the desired loudness, since you can't really tell how actually loud it is when editing. In 16, you know that the perfect volume is the one thats right before the distortion applies, it couldn't been easier to determine the volume back then. It sounded 100% the same before and after the rendering, now in 17 its not
It would be very useful if you return distortion effect once the audio is too loud, its was the only loudness indicator that actually worked and helped, please bring the feature back. Apart from being a loudness indicator, It can be used very well in creating some amazing effects without applying the actual distortion fx.
thank you!!!
