applying existing edits to different version of source file

This is probably in the manual, or in the forums somewhere, but I don't have the vocabulary to find it.

I have edited a timeline. It uses only one source file, and I am isolating clips.

After I edited it, I decided I would redo the conversion of the source file, from mpg to mp4, using a higher bit rate.

Is there some way I can apply the existing edit decisions in my existing timeline to the new version of the source file?

If someone has described this already, I wasn't able to find it.

Relink media and ignore extension or reconform from bin/disk and ignore file extension

Thank you! All I had to do was to give the new filename the same name.

try this：1，delete the mpg footage in the media poor. 2,drag the mp4 file into media poor.
