Hi all.
As we probably all do get sick of , im wanting to dump all these ssd drives onto a das or nas but still have drives fast enough to edit off when needing to go back to the files .
I have a qnap TB3 raid set up which i can get new drives for but whats everyone using ?
Love to hear some options for RAID external editing (4k 25 mostly on a mac)
thanks

I'm not an industry guy like some here but this is my setup;
Windows 10, Synology DS1821+ with 5 Ironwolf Pro 4Tb drives in SHR-2 (basically RAID6) with 250Gb 970 Evo NVME cache on CAT6 gigabit ethernet.
I saturate the gigabit ethernet at 113MB/s (until I get 10Gbe) and the internal speed is about 450MB/s.
Every drive I add internally will then increase the internal speed until all 8 bays are filled.
I edit all sorts from it with a 4K60 timeline from multiple Phone (h.264/h.265) and GoPro (h.265) files without any issues. As my photos are on there, the cache allows the thumbnails and files to be searched through and imported at great speed too due to their smaller size.
