Relinking clips begginer

PostWed Jul 07, 2021 11:51 pm

a newbie here..

I am trying to make a reel....cut several sections /instances of clips from the same clips...Since you can only set one in and out per clip i made several subclips from the same clips...
However when i begin to work with thee clips i try to extend the in and out points but I can no longer draw from the origianal clips..nothing there....(red)
Do i have to start from scratch..? I now know the better way is to set markers and then make clips from that....but didnt' realize at the time..Don't know if it makes any difference.

A subclip is like creating a whole new clip. Just like the original clip it is taken from, you cannot extend the subclip outside it's boundaries.
If you are needing to extend all of the subclips, then yes, you will have to start again.

You can do the work without using subclips, and hence without having to deal with their limitations. As you go through marking various In/Out segments, simply add them to a "selects" timeline for later use.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
