Bug in Node numbering when grades added from Gallery

PostFri Jul 09, 2021 12:54 am

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a power grade that consists of a single node (regular or compound)
2. Create a Resolve 17.2.2 project
3. Make sure "Preserve node numbers" is checked in the preferences
4. Create a grade with three nodes
5. Drag your power grade from the Gallery onto node two

Expected outcome: Node numbers remain the same
Actual outcome: Node 2's number changes to 3 (and 3 changes to 2)

I can't reproduce this problem. I routinely drag a single node onto an existing node in a Fixed Node Tree, and everything stays the same in terms of node numbers. So Node #2 (or whatever) stays the same. This is 17.2.2.

Are you in Build 4? Mac or Win? It is completely reproducible on my system (build 4, Mac).

Just made a screen recording. Weirdly, if I *uncheck* the Preserve Node Numbers pref is doesn't do it (but the node numbers on my fixed node tree get all screwed up.)
