Where is my bottleneck?

Hey guys,

I'm on a i9 9900k hackintosh with internal NVME SSD, 2 vega 56 8 GB cards and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM.

The system runs great except sometimes I won't get realtime playback when I'm using temporal noise reduction. I thought the bottleneck was my graphics card so I plugged in another vega 56 but still I won't get higher framerates.

I know temporal NR is pretty heavy but when I monitored my system in iStat menus nothing looks like it's bottlenecking my system. Even my 16 GB of RAM is not fully used when I'm pressing play in Resolve. Also when I only use 1 Vega 56 card it seems the card is only used like 80%.

What else could my bottleneck be? Is 16 GB of RAM still not enough even though the monitor says it's not used fully?

Thanks in advance

Studio or free version? Check the differences in processing.
16 GB might be on the small side, quite cheap to upgrade to 32 or 64 GB

I just upgraded my RAM and no difference.. Still horrible framerate. What else could be the problem? Oh and I'm on Davinci Resolve 17 Studio btw

80% for temporal process is already a lot. It's your GPU most likely.
What is Cpu doing at this time?
What is your timeline setting: UHD?
