Possible Fairlight Bug with Interlaced timelines

PostThu Jul 15, 2021 1:16 am

I've found a bit of a weird one..

When I set my timeline to 25p and jump into fairlight everything is fine, playback works.. i can do things.

If however, i set the timeline to 50i - fairlight playback is a stuttery mess. The only way I could describe it would be an incorrect sample rate.

Now I haven't changed any settings in resolve, i've just gone from a timeline at 1080 25p to 1080 50i with the same content, same media and all of a sudden fairlight just falls on its face.

Anyone else run into this one before? Have a fix? ... nuendos looking pretty appealing right now ...

Plz halp.

It was standard broadcast PAL TV nomenclature for many many years, Leslie, describing 50 interlaced fields per second. These days folks also refer to it as 25i (25 interlaced frames per second).
Let's have a return to the glory days, when press releases for new versions included text like "...with over 300 new features and improvements that professional editors and colorists have asked for."

Are you able to provide a sample Project exhibiting this issue?

Not reproducing playback issues on macOS with 17.2.2 and Interlaced Timelines.

@andy - oops. my mistake. what i meant was a 50i resolve timeline

however, isn't 50i actually 25fps in pal land? mind you, i'm old school so 'new' terminology might well have passed me by ;-)

I've tried it on another of my machines and it's now working... but still not working in our online suite.

I think i'm just gonna try and reinstall resolve clean and see if it fixes it.

Resolve refers to it as 50 fields per second. Dunno.. it's been called 108050i as long as I can remember, 25i is definitely new to me! :D
