Davinci Resolve Studio license questions

Dear Blackmagic Team,
My company needs the licence for the Davinci Resolve 17 programme. I have a few questions before purchasing the licence:

- Which version would be better for the 3 computers?
- How much would 1 cost each?
- Do I have to pay for the licence only once or monthly/yearly?
-how does the dongle version work?
- With the activation key--> if I want to register a 3rd computer, can I activate my old computer again with the key?
-Are there any offers or discounts if I buy more than 1 product?

It would be nice if you could answer my questions. Thank you very much!

With kind regards

As to which version, it depends on whether your computers meet the minimum recommended specs.

As to cost of a single licence, you will have to check on the website of a Blackmagic reseller in your country.
The license is a one off charge. No extra charge for updates has been made by Blackmagic since at least version 8, though they reserve the right to introduce a charge if they need to.
A dongle is like a usb pen drive which will activate Resolve on a computer it is plugged into.

If you unplug it Resolve will stop working until it is plugged in again. It means you can have Resolve on any number of computers and by plugging in the dongle activate it on that particular machine.
The activation code will authorize two computers at the same time. If you activate on a third one it will cancel one activation automatically. You will always have two activations available.
Discounts would be up to the reseller not BMD. The best deal at the moment is the inclusion of the Speed Editor for free when you buy the Studio version of Resolve.

In addition to Charles' excellent summary, it would also be a good idea to take a quick look at the licensing FAQs and the products page to understand your options.

Whether you go for Resolve activation key and the Resolve dongle depends on your usage profile. Neither Davinci Resolve license is time-bound. Both cost the same. Your local Blackmagic reseller is the best source to check prices that include your country's tariffs, taxes and conversion rates.

The FAQs have specific sections addressing your questions on the dongle and switching computers with the activation keys. My only additional note would be to retain your receipt and serial number as a proof of ownership.

May I further ask please for assistance entering the Activation key.

I have been using the free version of 17 and recently purchased both the speed editor and activation key.

However I can't find where in Resolve I enter the key into the free version to unlock the licensed features.

I look forward to your support.

Thank you.

You need to download the Studio version to enter the activation key

Just to make sure this is perfectly clear, you can buy a license that consists of just an activation key (long string of numbers and/or letters that you enter into the software to activate it) or you can buy a dongle (USB device that the software checks for before it will run). They are two different options, either will work with the restrictions described in the above posts.
