I only have a GTX 1070 8gb ram and from what i can see getting a 2060 or even a 3060ti is not going to make a huge difference in timeline playback so I'm here to ask if this is wrong or right.

I do fine with my computer but the only thing that is kind of slow for me is noise reduction. Will a RTX card speed certain effects up?

I went from a laptop with a 1070 to a desktop with a 3080. To me it all seems smoother and snappier. Rendering is also faster. However, I ofcourse also had a major CPU and RAM upgrade in the process...
CPU: Intel Core I9 10850K GPU: MSI Suprim X Geforce 3080 Motherboard: MSI Z590-A Pro RAM: 32 GB Gskil Ripjaws 3600 SSD: Samsung EVO 970 M.2 NVME 1TB OS: Windows 10 Home
UPDATE____________________ I just upgraded from gtx 1070 8gb to RTX 2060 6gb for 500 CAD used.THen I sold the 1070 for 300 CAD..., a lot lower than the 600+ prices I see online...., Just because scalpers and miners are messing up prices doesn't mean I have to follow their lead. Someone sold me that card for 350 and I passed on the respect!
I just got a RTX 2060 GPU and there are things that those tiny Tensor cores do that you will not even know on a GTX card.
2070 or higher is too much money for me and has a low ROI in my opinion. The low end rtx upgrade is a good upgrade and I highly recommend even for basic playback. I have won an award editing on the 1070 so I can get the job done but the change to 2060 is VERY noticeable.
I don't think I would need much more than the 2060 for what I do now. IF you want to save money get his card. It works better as a Resolve video card than a gaming card. There are things you will not even see with a GTX card that work in the RTX series.
