I just installed v17 over v16 without uninstalling v16 before I installed v17 on my mac OS. These are the free versions.

I was just playing around trying to figure out different key short cuts and I got this error message:
Unknown Tool found AnalogDamage1_1

And once another window opened:
id:ofx.com.blackmagicdesign.resolvefx.analogdamage

What does this mean? Is it something that got corrupted when I installed v17? This seems to appear randomly but not because I am trying to access a pro version tool. I never got this message on v16

Should I uninstall 17 and then install 17 after the uninstall? Anything I would need to do to make sure the database is in the right place?

Are you actually using that effect?

No I am not using any effects.

I was just working with some test clips and that window seemed to randomly come up although I was randomly running my cursor over the list of effects.

So many just scrolling over some of the pro effects caused this error? I did not actually move the effect to the timeline.

Ahh.

In the menu for the Effects Library, uncheck Hover Scrub Preview.

Is that a new error window that started popping up in version 17?

Or was it the same in v16? Maybe I was not scrolling over the effects when I had v16 installed. I never got that error message before.

Yes, that error message started in 17. It appeared if the effect was only available in Resolve Studio.
