My Davinci resolve 17 isn't working

Hey so I'm trying to do work on DaVinci resolve 17 but every time I add a video file into the software is shuts down can anyone help me with this problem I don't know how the FAQ works because I just see questions and answers for this forum!!! This has been very stressful
