Guide boxes for working with higher-res footage

PostFri Jul 23, 2021 6:37 pm

Hi guys, I'm shooting 5.9K 24p BRAW (usually 5:1) off the Panasonic S1H and one of my favorite things is the ability to punch in and reframe/pan/whatever with this high-end footage. My difficulty is easily knowing exactly how far I can zoom on my 5.9K footage before I'm past the 4K pixel-to-pixel threshold in a 4K timeline.

I know the basic ratio between 5.9K and 4K, basically: (3840x2160) / (5888x3312) = (8294400) / (19501056) = (0.425). So it would be helpful to have a box overlay showing that roughly 42.5%-sized box, so I can easily see where the highest-possible zoom level is.

I've tried messing a bit with the Grid effect and the Safe Area settings, but can't seem to get them to do what I need.

Thanks!
