Export audio files for pro tools

PostFri Jul 23, 2021 8:34 pm

Hello, everyone. We are editing on Davinci 17. We are trying to export audio files for pro tools.
Our sound designer is getting an MXF OP-ATOM, the codec is linear PCM but he is not able to open the files in pro tools. Any suggestions for exporting?

Suggest you perform a search as this topic has been covered numerous times.

ProTools is able to open MXF media.
Be sure to be current with ProTools - latest: 2021.6.

Suggest referring to the following chapter which covers the different available options in the ProTools preset: Resolve 17 Manual | Page 3492 | Chapter 186 | Rendering Media

Resolve 17.2.2 provides a preference for handles on both the Video (under Advanced Settings) and Audio tabs of the ProTools Preset.

When exporting an AAF constrain the Resolve Timeline and do not use mixed rate media or mixed frame rates - only use audio media with matching sampling rate (e.g. 48kHz) and bit depth (e.g. 16bit).

Do not include compressed media such as mp3 or AAC and only use uncompressed LPCM on the Timeline.

Remove all audio transition effects, always use the Clip's fade handles.

Remove audio media spread across Track Layers, ensuring that only a single layer is present: Timeline menu > Flatten Audio Track Layers

Enable the following preference:
Resolve Preferences > User > Editing > General Settings > Align audio edits to frame boundaries

Return to DaVinci Resolve
