Fairlight is hot garbage

PostFri Jul 30, 2021 9:18 pm

Is there a way I can report a bug directly to Blackmagic? Because I'd like to report the total of the fairlight page, it is absurdly bad.

Again and again in Resolve it can be seen that while they may know color correction they know little or anything else NLE related, and the fairlight page is in a dead heat with Fusion at being so horrible they are almost not worth using at all.

I've mixed audio professionally for close to 15 years and would be more interested in knowing how you bounce the entirety of the audio tracks OUT of Resolve to mix in another program rather than wasting time attempting to mix in fairlight, even them calling the audio mixing window "FairLIGHT" seems like it's supposed to be some kind of joke.

So, where do you report problems with the software itself, I doubt it's this board.

You can contact Blackmagic Customer Support directly here:

Telephone:
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/contact/phone

Email:
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/contact/email

I know they have Resolve color specialists that handle problems, and I'm assuming it's possible for them to accelerate support to a Fairlight specialist for sound-related problems.

Thanks! I could give them advice on how to fix "fairlight" all day long, it has a LONG way to go.

If Fairlight is garbage to you, go find something else to use. Check out Logix or something else that will fit your needs. I don't get why you punish yourself using it.

Matt, you've posted a number of messages here that all reveal your frustration with DVR and Fairlight.

With 15 years of audio mixing experience, why change now? Were you mixing music, or television, film, something else? Resolve is designed for post production, that is their core market.

Some of us find the Fairlight experience an improvement over ProTools, Logic, or other similar tools. Others do not. Use what works for you and fits the way you want to get your work done. Life is too short to fight with software when there are other alternatives out there that suit your way of working better.

Vive la difference!

I've mixed audio professionally for close to 92 years, trust me I know Windows Media Player!

MAKES SENSE, BMD knows nothing, zero, nada, that's why you were attracted to Resolve because the software is totally useless and very basic and you thought it was at your level lol.

What's the story here? You tried to put some music on your "MiniDV" video, and add a custom title with Fusion, and you failed? That's why you're angry like this?

And BTW, if you don't find a feature in the software, there is a forum for feature requests! So if you can't bounce an entire track because you can't mix our 1 Billion worth of projects in this totally useless and garbage software (your words), go ask for this feature.

How do you like the gaslighting? The forum is NOT a place to release your frustration especially if you don't even bother to explain your problems, go take a walk instead!

I find it always amusing, that if something that works just fine for pretty much everybody else, must be a "Resolve is total crap and it MUST be fixed immediately" bug, for the only guy, who has a certain problem.
