Hi All, has anyone else had a problem with their Streamdeck not working lately? Mine quit working in Resolve a few updates ago, and I can't get it to work again. It works in other apps and in system, but not in Resolve. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but no luck. Thoughts?

I've seen quite a few people complaining about their Streamdecks not working or becoming flakey of late. Perhaps it's just that there are so many of them out there now or maybe there's some larger issue.

Sorry I can't help more than that.. just an observation.

It's good to know that I may not be the only one. I'm still investigating...

Exactly same issue only on one of the workstations! I will investigate too! im almost sure that’s some “security-permission” issue.

Those who are having issues-- have you tried going into the Stream Deck app, preferences, Profiles tab, and removing then re-assigning the Application for your Resolve profile?

Yes indeed, I tried redoing the profiles, but it did nothing.

With the latest update of the streamdeck software there was a firmware update too. Easy to overlook. Mine is still running perfectly.

If you manually switch to your Resolve profile (using a Switch Profile key), do the buttons work in Resolve-- it's just not automatically switching to Resolve? Or are you saying it switches to Resolve ok but the buttons do nothing in Resolve?

I don't think I noticed that at all, thanks for the tip. I'll try to update it now.

You mentioned that it is working fine in other apps. Have you always set your Resolve profile as default? Perhaps try turning that "Make this my default profile" checkmark off, and be sure the Application is set to DaVinci Resolve. I've had times where that "Make this my default..." setting interferes with things, and find it works best if I do not use that setting on any of my profiles (not even the "Default Profile"). Every once in a while have to re-do a profile's "Application" setting if something is re-installed or updated.

And you've tried creating a brand new profile and setting "Application" as DaVinci Resolve?

I'd still try either creating a button to switch to your Resolve profile and/or open the Stream Deck app and manually switch to a different profile and back to the Resolve profile and see if that helps.

Something else-- are you using any 3rd party plugins like BarRaider macros, etc? If so maybe one is conflicting and should be manually removed. Try moving everything from the Plugins folder to a temp folder (%appdata%\Elgato\StreamDeck\Plugins) or (~/Library/Application Support/Elgato/StreamDeck/Plugins) while StreamDeck app is closed.

If you're still stuck, if you don't mind sharing an export of your Resolve streamDeckProfile file, I'd be happy to test here.

I've tried it that way too, both having it as my default, not set to default, with multiple profiles, and also with it as the sole profile. I'm not running any plugins at all. My firmware is 1.02.005 but for the life of me I could not find a way to update it. I tried all the ways I could find online to update it and none of them worked. I did find a note from elgato that said firmware updates "aren't necessary" but I don't put much trust in that.

Did the firmware update happen automatically for you? I do not have the option to update it, and the Ctrl+left-click trick to update it isn't working for me. Could it be because my streamdeck is too old? I believe it's the first version. Not sure if they've updated it since then...

If you can share that profile file, I can test and then we’ll know for sure if it’s the firmware or not.

Maybe you could take a look. My version is 1.00.008 (Settings/General) with software 5.0.0 (14247) on mac. But the firmware is independent from the computer used.

Hope you get it done.

For me got fix setting it to run always as admin, but still some times i need to close it and re-open in order to use it inside davinci.

Mark-- mine only shows the "Update Firmware..." button when there's a new firmware. My current firmware is 1.0.191203. What happens when you click that button?

I updated my XL firmware from 1.00.010 to 1.00.012 earlier today (after having it disconnected for a few weeks after switching around my setup) so you might want to restart your computer, XL, and/or software and try again because from my experience, the "Update Firmware" button only appears when there is a firmware update available so I had the button earlier but now it is gone. However, who knows because maybe you have a different hardware version so are on a different firmware version, too but in that case, it is strange that you have the "Update Firmware" button.

I had also written the elgato support so, and they said that fits.
may be that my serial number (production date)
does not need the new firmware or can not.

on the other hand my streamdeck works as it should ; -)
