[Bug Solved in17.3.1]: Atmos black triangular spot on Panner

PostMon Sep 06, 2021 9:57 pm

Working on Atmos ADAVinci 17.3.1, I got this visual "issue": I can't figure out what's that ... a black triangular spot that's associated with only one object. What I did wrong?

Sorry but it doesn't work.
I updated the driver following your suggestion and hoping in a solution. Version 21.9.1
Unfortunately it's exactly like before :-(

if I think that I bought it for Atmos capability .. you can imagine how I feel myself.

P.S. graphical anomalies are ONLY with the 3D panner into Amots busses

The behaviour points to a GPU driver issue.

Any improvement changing the Track Format of A5 (e.g. from 7.1.2 to 9.1.6)?

Alt + double click the Panner on the mono A2 Track.
Does the 3D Panner on that Track exhibit the same issue?

Double click the Panner on the mono A2 Track.
Is the issue reproducible with a 2D Panner?

THe mono track is also affected.

The normal 2D panner is ok

Any 3D panner is disastered.
I also made double click + ALT as you suggested in another normal stereo project: same issue

As I sadi: it's the only one graphics issue I have in all graphics programs and also DaVinci.
Hence it's something belonging to it.

If it was the GPU driver, not only updating could disappear, but I certainly have issues somewhere else;

Instead of this is the only one point.

Bart, first please refrain from shouting in the title,,i keep editing you your keep editing it back.

We don't see your issue here. There are 100s of users who use the 3D panner daily who also haven't reported so we are trying to work out with you what the issue is.

What specific GPU driver do you have installed?

Peter with the RADEON RX590 which driver should I use?? The 21.9.1 as said before.
You already asked, I already answered

Here the URL
https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics ... eon-rx-590

Perhaps there are +100 users without issue (you say this), but perhaps these users have not my same HW combination. Right=, And I'm facing out this issue.
As I said: it's the ONLY ONE graphical program with this issue and ONLY on that specific sector

Do you agree or not that if this is a driver issue, I have to get it somewhere else as well?
Working with 3D CADs, Blender, Photo editing softwares and so on?

To men, til the moment it's proven the opposite, this is a bug that's getting fired with some HW ...

And I would like to see it solved ASAP because it's blocking my work

Hi Bart,

As a test - can you download the older driver from here and see if that helps.

Please use the driver released in Dec 2020 - https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-590

Please perform a clean install. There is a checkbox in the initial installation screens.

Let us know if it works for you.

EUREKA!! With such old driver: it works!!!

But now: it's 1y old, and certainly I can't go on long with. So, do you think you can solve it in some way?

Things are not finished.

the issue that with a new driver something is broken, is still investigated by AMD and also by your team.

Believing is a problem of DaVinci is not far to be close to reality, hence DaVinci has issues in compatibility with recent releases of 3rd parties software.
I will not forget what's occurred with PostGreSQL, DaVinci is not compatible at all with the last versions.

I had to install a very old one, to get it works with.
SO it's definitely a possibility to take into consideration. Not certainly to throw away in advance.

Here we have a driver. With old version (1 year older) it works fine. As soon as a new version is installed: DaVinci has issues.

This is far to be normal and far to be just a case. It looks more a trend.

Hence the investigation must be continued till the moment the issue is found.

So far, who has the Video Adapter RADEON RX590 should be careful to use DaVinci with.
I'm willing to change it to go to GeForce 3080Ti. But prices are skyrocketed due the crypto-stuff and they are too far to be realistic. They are simply ridiculous.
So I will wait
But meanwhile I want to use the features I bought!

I WAS RIGHT :-)

it was a BUG of DAVINCI!

You addressed and solved in 17.3.2.
Hence do not modify the title of the thread because IT IS RIGHT.

In this post: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=148531
you addressed this:
Addressed incorrect Fairlight Spaceview display for specific AMD drivers.

Ok now it's solved!

@Peter Chamberlainl since this was a conclaimed BUG: don't modify the title please.
Or should I think BMD is trying to hide evidence of bugs? For which reason?? It has not sense.

This bug was tackled and successfully solved on 17.3.2 as I said.
And if you want to know more: A ticket was opened to BMD and also to AMD.

Loyalty comes first. And trying to hide the evidence, si not a good sign from BMD side.

Thank you for your understanding!
