Audio Song Keeps Randomly Speeding Up When I Play My Video

My song i have chosen for my video keeps playing faster than normal when i play back my video in the "cut" & "edit" sections??
It starts off playing in its normal speed & about 4 seconds in, the speed of the song speeds up randomly?
when i click on the "Fairlight" section, the song plays at its normal speed the whole way through?
I have double checked there is no problem with the audio file as i have tried adding other songs to the audio track & the same problems occurs!
My video is playing at 18fps - in the master settings, the "timeline frame rate" tab is also disabled so i can not change it...
Does anyone have an answer to this problem?
Many thanks...

It sounds like your video frame rate is incorrectly set to 18.
can you start a new project with that set correctly and copy paste the 18fps timeline into the new one

I had the same problem: after about 4 sec everything accelerated quite fast, however rendering the timeline resulted in a correct video.
It turned out in project settings/Master Settings/Timeline Format the Playback frame rate was set to 30fps whereas my video clips were recorded with 25 fps.
Setting the Playback frame rate to 25 fps solved the issue.

Hi guys,
I am new to Davinci Resolve. And I got the exact same error. Changing the framerate to 25fps in the master settings will fix the audio problem as well, but the footage i am working with has a framerate of 60 fps. that is why i put the timeline to 60 fps. if i need to work on a timeline with 25 fps i need to manually change the speed of my footage. That is for sure not the solution of the problem, right? There needs to be a simple solution for having a 60-fps-timeline with working WAV-audio-sound. I am coming from Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere. And I have never seen a behaviour like this.
Does anybody has a solution for that problem?
Thanks a lot
Best Regards
Mike

Hi there again,
for that problem, that the sound is playing faster than the video, I found the right solution for me (as a beginner). And this is probably the right solution. When audio is playing to fast and video is playing right or vice versa, then there is an adjustment problem in the working area.
As I want to create a video with 60fps it is not enough to only change the playback framerate within the "Project Settings" to 25 like mentioned before - even this makes playing the sound right.
I figured out that it is not enough to change the framerate within the project settings - master settings (playback framerate and format). there is one more setting: the framerate of the timeline. Once the timeline is created the framerate of the timeline cannot be changed afterwards. that means ... if you have a timeline with 24fps, you can do changes within the project settings like in playback framerate or in format. but this won't have an impact on the timeline's framerate. Within the "Project Settings - Master Settings" in the section "Timeline Format" you can see the timeline's framerate but it is greyed out. So you cannot change it.
Solution:
Do not create a new timeline in the "Media Section" of DaVinci Resolve because in version 19 there are only two options available (Create new timeline using selected bin, Create new multicam clip using selected bin). Instead of using "create new timeline using selected bin" change to the "Edit Section" of DaVinci-Resolve. Make a right click in the master area and choose "create new timeline". Uncheck the option "Use project settings". That brings up some more options like "format" which now need to be adjusted manually. There you can change the timeline frame rate manually to what you need - in my case 60fps. Then click on create. Now you have the timeline with the exact fps you need and with the audio working perfectly. Keep in mind: After creating your timeline this way, you cannot do any changes within the "project settings - master settings" anymore. to do changes, within the "Edit Section" of DaVinci Resolve right click on the appropriate timeline and choose "timelines - timeline settings". That is my solution which always perfectly works with all framerates.
Best regards
Mike

Why does this happen when moving a project from one computer to another?
It happened to me PC to Mac.
