Strange restrictions for moving a keyframe on the Edit tab

PostThu Sep 16, 2021 12:28 am

Initially, I just wanted to copy the keyframe from the beginning to the end of the clip, but ctrl-c and ctrl-v do not work with keyframes at all. Then I tried to duplicate keyframes using drag and drop with alt pressed and ran into this limitation:

screenrec.gif
(the mouse cursor is broken only on the record)

So I can freely move keyframes only when I duplicate one parameter in the Curve Editor.
I hope that this is just two bugs, and not "features".

Keyframing is copying and pasting without issues for me.
I would suggest reading how it works in the Resolve reference manual.

In the 16th version, ctrl-c and ctrl-v just copies the clip itself. And duplication also blocks moving over other keyframes.

I tried to find something about keyframes in the Edit tab, in the documentation, but I didn't find anything.

It seems to me that some settings could have broken when updating Davinci (especially if this problem is unique to me).

upd.
I also checked Davinci on another PC and there is exactly the same problem.

You did not specify a Resolve version. Resolve 17 copies & pastes keyframes with the keyboard shortcuts without issues. Keep in mind that Resolve works differently to all other editing apps.

It is not possible to drag keyframes past another keyframe. Create a new kf and copy & paste the kf required.

I agree, my mistake.
Windows 10, Davinci 17.3.1.

I'm currently trying to test it from under Linux. I have already spent a whole day and could not launch Resolve...

I don't understand why there is such a restriction.

"I don't understand why there is such a restriction."

Just works that way due to Resolve being a Colour Grading software, and it's development path.

I still don't understand the reason for the copy error, but a couple of times I managed to achieve copy workability. This happened when I used the standard database for projects. However, now the standard database is also broken...

upd.
I was able to export these two projects with and without copying keyframes.
