No audio for some videos - in Resolve 17.3.1 in window 11

PostThu Sep 16, 2021 9:28 am

After updating window from 10 to 11, audio is not showing in the timeline for some videos*

*1. Video recorded from OBS, videos downloaded from Youtube. [these are working fine in other devices in resolve only[

But video recorded from the camera has sound.

Can someone help me in this regard?

TIA

Yeah, known issue with Windows 11. AAC audio in MP4 videos (and possibly in other video containers also) will no longer decode in Resolve.

Presumably Microsoft changed something in the decoder and Resolve can't currently work with it. Windows 11 isn't out yet and so won't be officially supported.

Either go back to Windows 10, or as a workaround you'll need to use a program like Shutter Encoder to convert the audio from your videos to a WAV file, which you can then import separately into Resolve.
