cannot get clips anymore

[attachment=0]DaVinci error 2.png[/attachment downloading (=updating) 17.3.1 , I cannot access my clips anymore. Just get error messages. Had the same problem with prior download, but could start a new project with clips on dashboard. Now those do not show up anymore either. What do I do?

What drive is the first listed in preferences
What path is listed in project settings, master settings for cache and stills

putting that drive in my clip makes no difference. Often upon reopening, it reverts back to the previous drive.
