Color Page - Edit Size - how to copy settings? Solved

PostFri Oct 15, 2021 1:01 pm

I am on Resolve 16. While preparing BRAW shots from the PCC4k on the Color Page, I am doing some corrections like lens distortion and Zoom X scaling (to compensate wide angle shots a bit).
But for my life I cannot find a way to just copy and paste the values set in Edit Size.
Any hint how to do that or do I still have to type those manually clip by clip?

Can you copy from one clip and then select Paste Attributes (ALT-V) which should allow you to paste a specific set of attributes?

No, it is ignoring everything from the Edit Size tab.

Perhaps I'm losing it but when you say from the 'Edit Size' tab, what do you mean? Do you mean the 'Edit Sizing' mode of the 'Sizing' tab on the color page?

If so, this is the same as the transform on the edit page (at least for some of the settings from what I can tell - such as zoom and pan, etc...)

These aren't copied between grades or via 'color' attributes, those are copied via video attributes on the edit page (using the method I described above).

If you were changing node sizing on the color page then CNTL-C, ALT-V would let you paste node sizing on the color page, but that's a different kettle of worms (or something like that).

There is indeed an "editing sizing" option on the Color page, but it's attributes, like lens distortion, don't appear to be copyable. "Output sizing" and the other options there (except "edit sizing) *can* be applied to all clips by selecting "timeline", rather than "clip". There might be a way to do it selectively with groups, as well. Something to investigate....

But if you want to copy lens distortion, you can do it on the Edit page, alt-v, which will bring up a dialogue with choices of what attributes you want to paste. If the distortion change is made under Edit Sizing, it will show up in the Inspector on the Edit page.

Edit Sizing on the Color page was always just a handy way for colourists to make fine adjustments to edit sizing embedded in imported sequences. ALL copying and pasting of Edit page parameters is done on the Edit page.

Thanks for the suggestions. The strange thing is that the settings I do on the color page for edit sizing do not translate to the settings in the edit page. For example lens distortion is not active on the edit page despite being set in the color page.
This might be a bug of the 16.3 beta I am using (can't update to 17 because of Win 7 which I can't update to Win 10 because of hardware driver issues).

EDIT:
So I tried to set the lens correction in the edit page first - which does translate over to the color page.

I can also copy and paste attributes but only the Scale X value - there is no option to copy the lens distortion value?

Ok, so I found a workaround.
I select all clips I want to have the same lens distortion correction applied to in the edit page.
Then I can input the value into the inspector and this will be set for all selected clips.

It does seem inconsistent. Glad you found a workaround!
