Can you not use an effect/dissolve between video clips and images?

Sure you can. What does happen when you try?
Now that the cat #19 is out of the bag, test it as much as you can and use the subforum.

I figured you had to be able to. When I try, it only wants to let me place it on the video side...it's not extending over to the image side.

OK...I figured it out. There wasn't enough "buffered time" for the transition to work. I realize now that my previous clips were all segments from longer clips...ie...they had plenty of material on either side (I just wasn't aware of the function at that time).
