Resolve Forgets Timeline View Options

PostSun Oct 17, 2021 9:10 pm

I am having an issue in Resolve Studio 17.3.2 Build 8 on Mac where sometimes when I switch timelines and then return to the previous timeline, all of my Timeline View Options for the previous timeline have been reset. I lose waveforms, full waveforms, and all track heights are reset to the smallest. It doesn't happen all the time and just seems to pop up randomly when I move from one timeline to another and back again.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Yes, I have same problem on Windows. And for all UI layouts too.

One workaround: under Workspace -> Layout Presets, create a custom preset you like and give it a name. Recall that setting. If the Timeline View options go stupid, recall it again and all will be well.

"In general," it works pretty well, but I have seen cases where I go back to the Media Page or the Edit Page and the bins have reverted to Icon mode instead of List mode. The layout preset will restore what you want.

Thank you for the tip, Marc. I gave it a try but the preset isn't saving my timeline view options. It remembers window locations and bin settings, but not the timeline view options. I was hopeful your suggestion would work.

The same thing on mac 17.3.2 (this has been going on since 17.0), but with the fusion tab. It remembers nothing. I enter and set the active nodes and also the preview in and out. Navigate to the correct area in the node tree. I switch to any tab and come back in, and all of a sudden the media out node is active in viewer two and it places the node tree at some random place in the viewer.

It seems like version 17 isn't remembering none of the setting you change while in a tab. The fusion tab just completely ignore and type of movements you made to the node view, as in what part you was focussed on. and the spline editor totally resets everytime you go in and out of the fusion tab.
