Swapping clips in timeline broken

PostFri Oct 22, 2021 7:14 am

Hi! Check out the two screenshots. When I swap the block in the timeline, the clips on v1 and v2 that come after the block that I moved loose their sync. It seems to be due to the fact that Resolve measures the distance from each video track to what's coming after without seeing the block that's being moved as a whole. Premiere does a similar thing with attached audio but it's just wrong and renders the whole function useless (at least when moving more than one video track at once). The only one who implemented this right has been Avid so far.

Both swap methods? Swap left/right and command-shift-drag?

I normally only use them for single clips, so I don’t think I’ve run into this, or if I did, wasn’t bothered by it much, or just did a ripple cut+ paste insert.

How would you swap left/right in this case?

Of course there’s always a workaround but that’s not the point :)

I’m asking if your original complaint is with the “swap clips towards left” command (command-shift-comma), or a different method.

command-shift-drag as the other mode would definitely not work in this case
