17.4 missing plugins

PostFri Oct 22, 2021 8:43 am

Hi,

So I have just installed 17.4 and have opened a project to find that all of my audio plug-ins are Disabled. I have looked in the preferences under Audio plugins and while all of the VST folders are listed there are none showing as available.

Before I make any other changes does anyone have any recommendations for next steps? I am using a Steinberg which is why I made the update today due to the new support for VST3

Thanks

Hi

Can you post a link to Resolve's diagnostic logs (from the Help menu) and a screenshot of your audio plugins preferences page to show which plugins are affected.

Regards

All of my audio plugins are affected. None show up as available. I have attached a screenshot showing some of the folders.

I'd like to request a couple of diagnostic steps.

1. Close Resolve.

2. Navigate to this path:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Preferences\Fairlight\Effects\ (Win)
or
/Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/Blackmagic\ Design/DaVinci\ Resolve/Fairlight/Effects/ (Mac)

3. In this folder, rename FXConfiguration.xml to FXConfiguration.xml.backup

4. Restart Resolve. This triggers a rescan of your audio effects.

Please provide a link to a copy of this backup file regardless of result.
-------
If you still have issues seeing all effects, it may be worth trying to reinstall the effects package - iZoptope for the iZInsight.dll etc.
-------

If neither steps succeed, please post another log archive for us to examine.

Thanks

Changing the file name unfortunately didn't change anything within Resolve. All looks the same.

Here is a link to that backup file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HD-aoe ... sp=sharing

Using Waves Central there is an option to install the plugins. It requested that I close Resolve, which I did, and then it went about installing. Once completed these still do not show up within resolve.

Here is the new log file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Cfr6Je ... sp=sharing

Thanks for helping.

Hi Paul

These are restricted links. You may want to right click the file and make it a shareable link.

Thanks

Hi Shrinivas, is this still being looked into?

Update: I uninstalled and went back to 17.3 and all plugins loaded successfully. I then uninstalled and tried 17.4 again. This time many of the plugins loaded and showed correctly in preferences.

However, on the project I am working on the Wave Q10 plugin as shown in my screenshot above could not be enabled. The plugin was automatically added to the Input field but does not hold any of the project work.

So, I uninstalled again and reverted back to 17.3 where all is still how it should be, including all previous details held on the Q10 plugin.

Hi all,

This is causing me terrible problems too.

The plugin scan is stuck in a loop, it constantly rescans, from the moment i start resolve non stop.

Sometimes all my plugins are available, sometimes i open the project and random ones a greyed out. I close and open and different ones are greyed out.

There seems to be some issue with plugin scanning.

I’m having the sane issue. BMD, please add a button in preferences to manually force a rescan on plugins.
