cache for magic mask does not work?

PostSat Oct 23, 2021 1:01 am

I have a shot that for the fun of it I used Magic mask to select and follow a face.

the shot does nt play in realtime anymore... weird... I though that after it has been calculated the mask is Realtime.

no biggie, i will cache the node. Shot is red--- become blue, all good.

i hit play and when I hit that shot, the shot cache become red again and lose the realtime....

I resorted to eliminate the magic mask and do a normal one....

edit: forgot to mention, resolve 17.4

Realtime playback of Magic Mask working fine for me. No issues at all. It even seems faster in Resolve 17.4.

I believe I encountered the same issue reported by Walter. Maybe a Windows 10 thing?

In 17.3.2 I had a magic mask on the first node of a grade and wanted to cache it for real-time playback. I set caching to 'User' mode and then enabled caching for the node in question. In 17.3.2 the caching worked as expected and I was able to play the balance of the grade in real-time.

Upgraded to 17.4 and opened this same project and cannot get the caching to work. I tried deleting the cache, etc. If I set to 'Smart' caching it looked like it was going to cache the clip but in the end it still did not playback in real-time so my guess is that it didn't really cache the results from the magic mask node.

I'm not in front of my machine at the moment but I'll try again Monday and see if I can give more specifics.
