It's a documented limitation of certain codecs, when generating optimized media. Sub-blacks and superwhites aren't retained. You'll find it explained in the manual. Try a 12 bit 444 format, which should retain all data. Last time I went through this, the results weren't as expected with 444 either, but see what you get.
