Has anyone managed to upload to Dropbox Replay in 17

PostSun Oct 24, 2021 8:22 pm

Hey guys,

I tried uploading a project to Dropbox Replay in 17.4, via the default option in the Deliver Tab (ticked the upload directy to Dropbox Replay checkbox).

Tried a few times actually. The video is rendered on my PC, I see the progress bar going to 100% when Resolve is uploading it, but in Replay the video doesn’t seem to be displayed even after 2 hours. Any ideas?

The Dropbox account is connected, I haven’t seen any error during rendering.

This new feature it’s perfectly timed to a project I currently work on and getting real-time feedback with markers/comments in Resolve is a “sent from Heaven” thing.

Did you log into Dropbox on the Resolve preference page?
Did the render q show the file upload was complete?

Hi Alexandru,

In your render queue, where the render job shows 'completed' (after dropbox upload finishes), can you right click on the job and hit 'Reveal in Browser'. See if that helps.

Hey, yes Dropbox is connected in preferencea.
In the deliver queue the status of the render is Uploading 100%, and the only option I have is to “reveal in media viewer” or “Reveal in finder”.

I’m trying a new render right now.

Thanks!

And you used the Dropbox Replay render settings preset, not the regular Dropbox preset?

Hey,

Yes, tried with both actually - at first there was no "completed" status, after a few hour it shows Upload failed. Also tried with the Dropbox upload option. The same. Resolve seems to be connected to my Dropbox account, it is shown in Dropbox Settings->Connected Apps.

I'll try a reinstalling Resolve, maybe it fixes the problem.

Thanks

After some tests I’m drawing the conclusion that this is an issue related to filesize (clip duration?).

A smaller file is rendered and uploded just fine to Replay, but a larger one (around 5GB) fails to upload - the status in the render queue is “upload failed”. Are there any size or duration limits? The same happens if I also try to upload directly to Dropbox.

Thanks!

Were you able to upload new version of the file in Dropbox Replay?
It seems that second upload alway generates new clip on dropbox vs adding new version

Any idea regarding filesize or clip duratio limits?
I managed to upload smaller ones, but on clips with durations over 1h/5GB doesn’t work.

Thanks!

Large file Dropbox upload issue has been addressed in 17.4.1.

If you are currently logged into Dropbox from the Resolve Preferences area, after installing 17.4.1, you'll need to log out and log back in.

Hey, updated Resolve, disconnected and then reconnected Dropbox but I have the same issue, am I doing something wrong? Apparently, files over 2Gb are failing to upload.

Thanks!

I do not get the REPLAY option in the render outputs.

Any suggestions?

In the Deliver page Render Settings selection, there should be a Dropbox icon. It doesn't say Dropbox until you select it. Looks like the screen shot below. Do you have that icon?

The message I posted above was for the normal Dropbox account upload, not for Dropbox Replay.

The image below shows the Dropbox Replay icon.

You will not see the Dropbox Replay icon unless you are logged into your Dropbox account in Resolve Preferences - System - Internet Accounts.

Details for how to use Dropbox Replay with Resolve are in the November 2021 Resolve manual, starting on page 262.

It's working for me, on a Mac with Resolve Studio 17.4.4 installed.

Can you describe your system config and Resolve version details?

And the issue is that you don't see the Dropbox Replay icon on the Deliver page Render Settings, as shown in the image above?
