DR 17.4 crashes when moving the mouse

PostMon Oct 25, 2021 2:25 pm

I was working on a project with 17.4 mainly in Fairlight and on the edit page.

Suddenly Resolve starts crashing whenever the mouse is moved across the application window. :(
  • restart Resolve and open the project --> crash after moving the mouse
  • install the latest NVIDIA Studio driver doesnt help --> crash after moving the mouse
  • it's even impossible to create a diagnostic Log File in this project, to do so I had to open a new one
It must be something in the project, working on a new one creates no crashes

Update:
  • it crashes even when the mouse is not moved.
  • deinstallation of 17.4
  • install 17.3 and loading the project --> no more crashes :!: :!: :!:

Hi Andi. Can you please send us a copy of this project (.drp) which is crashing for you?

In the meantime I could narrow the problem:
  • Text+ is a section where a lot of changes has been applied in 17.4
  • so I deinstalled 17.4 and installed 17.3.2 again where everything runs smooth without any crash
  • created a new project and copied one jpg file, one Fusion animation containing a Text+ object and another Text+ objected animated directly in the inspector
  • updated to 17.4 and opened the project
  • at the beginning timeline playback in edit page runs okay, then clicked on Fairlight and the following Error message appeared:
    missing Font.png
    missing Font.png (41.37 KiB) Viewed 396 times
  • clicked on yes, went back to the edit page and playback seemed to be okay
  • Playhead over the fusion text and clicked on Fusion Page
  • CRASH
the Fusion-Text-Animation was a simple one:

Hope that helps by eliminating the rootcause.

Any news after analyzing the LOG File?
