Audio sync is lost after stabilizing

PostTue Oct 26, 2021 9:24 pm

Platform : Mac M1 OS BigSur 11.6
Davinci Resolve 17.4 Build 12 (free version)

I seem to experience an unsync of video after these steps.

1. Import two media clips each from a different camera from the same event.
2. Go to edit page and select the two clips (audio+video) and select align by waveform.
At this point all seems well, the video from both is in sync according to the audio track.
Both videos are on top of each other as V1 (top) and V2 (bottom).
3. Apply stabilization to V1 only.
4. Add a fade transition to V1 only.
5. Crop and transpose so that V1 shows on top of V2 in final output.
6. render in mp4 with 4k resolution.

The outcome is a desynced video file in mp4 with a delayed beginning for about 35 sec.
Anyone know why this is? The only step I can think of is that I need to do stabilization and transpose effect to both V1 and V2. Am I correct?

V1 is a telephoto video thus I wanted to add stabilization. V2 is a stationary wide angle video so it doesn't need it because stabilization is very slow.
