17.4 MacOS issues with new fullscreen apporach

PostWed Oct 27, 2021 8:12 pm

I'm sure there's must be a way to disable this, but haven't found out how. Tested on both desktop and MacBook.

1. Annoying animation that disappears resolve to one side when going to the finder's desktop via "Command+TAB" shortcut.
2. Hidden menus on top, makes everything slower when working with a mouse, since I have to wait for it to make the menus visible before selecting.
3. The most important: Since Resolve now hides to one side when going to the finder, I can't have Resolve and the finder on view at the same time. So there's no way to be able to drag media from the finder into Resolve.

I'm sure I must be missing a config or something but even if this was the case, it's very annoying that this is the default now.

Found the answer.

I'm still leaving my dumb post in case someone else faces this issue.

Just needed to wait for the green button to show up when looking for the menu and click ip to change full screen modes.

CORRECTION...

This does not solve the issue, because it brings the dock into screen and decreases the size of the Resolve window.

It's a workaround, because I now have a way to drag and drop. But have to do multiple steps to do it... it is slow and annoying.
