You only need to worry about that if you are on Windows.
If you are on Windows, open the Windows Control Panels - Programs and Features panel.
Right click DaVinci Resolve.
Select Uninstall.
That will properly uninstall Resolve and leave all your user data intact.
Then run the Studio installer.
