Davinci Resolve studio 17.4 no opening

Hello Team!

I have problem with DaVinci resolve studio 17.4. I was working with free version 17.3, it was working properly but now I have bought the studio licence, and I have installed it correctly, but when the windows program is opened it closes it immediately, I have tried to solve it by trying all the methods but it has not worked.

Hi, i have the same problem, Win10 x64 and Nvidia Quadro p620.

If you have Studio, I'd suggest to contact support.

Also having issues with Studio 17.4 not wanting to start.
Upgraded from earlier studio version (studio since v16).
Also tried updating Blackmagic Desktop Video to 12.2 (although using a laptop - hey - willing to try options before resort to reinstalling 17.0 to get some work done)

For interest -

Hardware shouldn't be my issue considering was with working prior version and exceeds minimums (Not a guarantee of course - just need one OS or driver update that doesn't want to play nice).

Have sent email to support (would be my suggestion too as per Uli Plank's earlier reply today) see how that goes.

If resolve won't start at all, see the FAQs about how to manually navigate to the capture logs app and generate logs, post a link to them here

Temporarily disable onboard GPU if your motherboard has one and set Windows to apply the RTX2080 to Resolve.exe in Windows 10 Graphic Performance Preference area of Graphics Settings. This works for me every time. Once Resolve has started, it should set itself to only use the RTX2080. You can also check this once running.

SUCCESS - at least for me and my system.

Did contact Support - did provide log and sys.ini files. (Thanks Peter, had jumped the gun on you there )

Suggestion 1
Make sure using latest display driver - for Nvidia use Studio instead of Game Ready
Update Discreet GPU drivers with Studio drivers instead - didn't help
For trouble shooting, disconnect any external displays on laptop and try starting Resolve again (and rebooted laptop again) - still didn't work

Blackmagic said looks related to Intel integrated gpu interfering with Resolve startup
If can't disable (being laptop), try update drivers for integrated GPU - direct from Intel website, not Windows update
Update drivers - try from Lenovo and Intel and reboot few more times etc

Discovery - after seeing odd "unknown" adapter listing on Intel Driver Support Assistant - relook at sys.ini entries - notice "Citrix indirect Display Adapter"

Uninstalled Citrix completely - restarted laptop.
Less than 10 seconds to Project screen. Woo Hoo out loud (WHOL? )

Happy Studio user again
(Probably means I need to reinstall-uninstall Citrix again for work or see if I can use browser based connection instead when required)

Sorry for the long story - too much isolation. Hoping can help some if either using Citrix - or to look for unexpected external factors.

Thanks hockinsk, for my laptop that isn't an option - but I can see that being a VERY handy option for those that can.

Really? It's unusual for a computer to be locked down so much you can't disable a device? Is your machine administrated by a company/IT Dept or something? You should simply be able to open Device Manager, right-click and select 'Disable'
