<Solved> Fairlight VST3 = can't save project 17.4.2

PostFri Nov 19, 2021 2:46 pm

<<< SOLVED >>>

As soon as I had submitted this post

On the next load - it invited me to download an update.

Build 9 [ 17.4.2] - now works with VST3 plugins in the Fairlight Page.

Many thanks.

Original message below:

Hello

I'm using iZotope RX Restoration plugs in Davinci Resolve

These work in Nuendo 11

And they work in Davinci Resolve

However:

If I load any VST3 plugin into a 17.4.2 project Build 8

It is impossible to now save the project.
Any changes made to the project, either in fairlight or the edit page, using video clips, fusion titles or audio - are all lost.

It only saves up to the point that the VST3 effect was added.

And - because it can't save the project - it won't close
And you can't save as a new project either.

Windows 10 - i9
I have to use the task manager to close Davinci Resolve.

Has anyone else found the same issue?

Many thanks,

Hey David, I'm having this same issue.

It happens whenever I add or delete an iZotope RX plugin from the Fairlight page.

It's quite random. Happens with AU & VST plugins. Any of the RX7, RX8 or RX9 plugins will set it off. And yet it doesn't always happen.

For me it started happening in DR 17.4.1. I rolled back to 17.4 as the problem went away. I've just upgraded to the latest 17.4.2 build 9 and now it's better, but still happens intermittently. I may just delete a plugin and that will cause the issue. Crash out of the program, open the same project & timeline, delete the same plugin and it's fine.

I'm going to roll back to 17.4 until I'm certain the issue is fixed. So I can definitively say this is NOT SOLVED for me.

It's happened to me quite frequently, but I found that if I move briefly to another page, do some actions, then move back to the Fairlight page, and then SHIFT a clip slightly (I'll put it back exactly where it was), I can then now save.
