17.4.2 Layout issues continue

PostFri Nov 26, 2021 2:26 pm

Hi all,

Since the first iteration of Resolve 17.4 my UI layout is all over the place. And still is in 17.4.2:

Whenever I go in and out off full screen the layout is completely changed, sometimes with the Media Browser totally covering the viewer. Everything is resized differently after going into full screen. Same thing in the Color Page - it keeps switching from he traditional 3 panel view to the 2 panel view with a massive waveform.

Does anybody experiencing the same?? is there something I need to reset or set up properly??

Thanks !

This is on the machine in your signature, MacBook Pro?

Windows users have these issues a lot due to display scaling, but it's not common on macOS.

Have you tried Workspace -> Reset UI Layout? If not try that, see if that sorts it.

Hey!

Thanks so much for replying.

Yeah that's my machine. Still having the same issues after resetting the UI. When I reset its it does bring me back to the right layout. As soon as I go in and out of full screen, it's all messed up again

Very weird.....

Did it happen before Monterey?
That's a pretty recent OS version and I wouldn't trust it to work smoothly with DR all the time.
Maybe AI can help you. Or make you obsolete.

I’m experiencing the same behavior on a MBP running Monterey and DR17.4.2.

However when running DR in full screen mode… there are no issues switching between full screen viewer and regular UI

Thanks a mill Charles, that works!!

I was just thinking it might be down to Monterey and not to Resolve necessarily. It never happened before Monterey actually but I didn't have 17.4.x installed before Monterey.

The full screen trick will do in the meatime

Thanks!

I think their layout scheme did change with 17.4, and I noticed I had to screw with the 2-display GUI setup on our main Mac at work for several minutes in order to get it to cooperate.

My symptoms were interesting: the left GUI display went black, while I had half the GUI correctly in monitor #1 on the right. If I changed desktops (via Mission Control), then I'd see the other half of the left GUI on a different desktop. I played around with the "Enter Full Screen" mode on the Apple OS window itself, and that finally solved the problem.

We're still on the last version of Catalina on this machine, but I'm girding my loins to upgrade to Monterey before the holidays. The M1 Max laptop is running 17.4.2 under Monterey, and while there are security and other issues that I have with Monterey, Resolve appears to be fine... so far. I blame Apple for a lot of this confusion.
